Kerry Me Home

by Al Terego

Last month, the Review began a brief series focusing on the homes of Senator John ‘Defender of the Common Man’ Kerry—the wealthiest member of the United States Senate by a very wide margin, according to Roll Call magazine. As we noted then, even his more conservative senior colleague from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, was a mere tenth on the list. Like Kennedy, Kerry inherited a fortune. But Kerry’s innovation in his route to the very top of the heap has been the ‘clever’ strategy of marrying into real money, not once, but twice.

Last month we offered a view of the Senator’s lowly $3.7 million home at Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania. This month, we move a bit upscale. If he’s elected, Camp David might not make the grade for Kerry. Among his numerous vacation getaways is this Ketchum, Idaho, ski lodge, assessed at $4.916 million. Again next month and each month through October, we’ll share another of these modest digs with you. Enjoy.
